Job Application Basics
Applying for a job at Gentrac can be intimidating if you don’t know what to expect. The first step is to send in your résumé, cover letter, and online application. At this point, you may also be asked to answer a few questions or take a test. Once you’ve submitted your documents, all you can do is wait to be invited to an interview.
Interview
There are two types of interviews in our hiring process. Between each round, we gather feedback from your interviewers and determine next steps.
Pre-Employment Test
Pre-employment assessments are a great tool for employers to see if the position is a good match for the candidate. Make sure you ask your HR recruiter if you will be expected to take a test. If so, which assessment company provides it and what is the name of the test?
- Describe the best job you’ve ever had.
- Tell me about a time you made a mistake.
- How well did your college experience prepare you for this job?
- Describe the most rewarding experience of your career thus far.
- What qualifications would you be looking for if you were hiring for a position subordinate to yours?
